Grace Presbyterian Church is seeking a 30-hour per week Office Administrator. This person is the first/primary point of contact for the church who will triage calls/emails/requests and help the Pastor, other staff and lay leaders with communication/publication support.
The Office Administrator will provide administrative support to the Pastor and will support other staff, both paid and volunteer, with special tasks and projects, four days per week, Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 – 4:30 with a designated hourly rate of $24 - $36 based on skills and experience. Church affiliation is not required.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Operating office equipment e.g., computer and copy machines.
- Maintaining master church calendar in Google Calendars.
- Interfacing with facility users, setting time clocks and arranging for maintenance and minor repairs.
- Purchasing supplies for the office and church.
- Scheduling church custodian and office volunteers.
- Maintaining church database with the database team.
- Maintaining electronic and paper files for Session meetings.
- Coordinating articles, writing and layout for monthly newsletter, Grace in the World,delivering to the post office for bulk mailing.
- Submitting press releases to Rossmoor News.
- Producing the Sunday worship bulletin from provided resources.
- Providing weekly outreach to the congregation through Constant Contact and email.
- Updating and adding content to the church website.
- Highlighting special events via posters and other media.
- Updating outdoor bulletin boards.
- Providing assistance for selected special events as a team player.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications include:
- Office Coordinator, Executive Assistant or Administrative Coordinator experience
- Demonstrated organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, ability to follow ideas, projects, and tasks through to full completion
- Self-directed ability to set and manage multiple priorities and projects
- Maintain and keep sensitive information confidential with judgment and compassion
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Photoshop, database and website navigation and skills
