Grace Health is Hiring a Clinical Support Specialist Near Corbin, KY

Summary: Performs or assists in the planning, development, process design, implementation, and use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Also plays a critical role in the process of system implementation, problem identification and solution through coordination and collaboration among physicians, clinical staff, and Information Technology department. Must be able to troubleshoot and identify the impact of clinical IT upon patient care. Must possess the ability to analyze EHR application and exercise judgment in identifying system problems and solutions to correct the problems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer a training plan for end users by developing workflows in EHR.
  • As the subject matter expert for the EMR, evaluate needs, implementation and functionality of clinical applications and systems.
  • Responsible for all activities associated with development of training materials, clinically accurate training environment and training for new employees and ongoing training for current employees.
  • Develops and maintains training exercises and materials for users of clinical information systems.
  •  Conducts classroom training sessions, in-services, group and individual instruction. Provides remote, web-based training as required.
  • Has knowledge of the institutional clinical systems and clinical policies and procedures relevant to practice for each of the roles trained.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and works to resolve them or escalate to other staff as needed.
  • Develops user manuals, policies/procedures and reference materials that are clinically relevant to current practice.
  • Proactively maintains and updates training materials and the training environment as needed.
  • Actively participates in the system testing process for new functionality or system upgrades.
  • Provides instruction through both lecture and demonstration.
  • Supports and develops Super Users at each primary location.
  • Maintain knowledge of Grace Health’s standard configurations and clinic specific templates and customization.
  • Conduct observations of users in their environment to identify areas for improvement and suggestions for workflow redesign.
  • Support clinical efforts to achieve local, state, and federal performance measures.
  • Spend time in direct clinical setting regularly to help assess current workflows and issues and improve training and support.

  • Team members will participate in the review and evaluation processes of practice performance and help to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Team members will participate in Grace Health's advocacy program.
GENERAL DUTIES:
  • Follows policies and procedures of the office, including administrative, clinical, quality assurance, and personnel
  • Maintains good attendance (daily, meetings, and other assignment tasks)
  • Maintains timely documentation of all work assignments
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Routinely keeps supervisor informed about attendance and job assignments
  • Flexible in being able to multitask
  • Works effectively and at an efficient pace
  • Works cooperatively with providers, administration, and peers
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to assist in advancing Grace Health’s mission and to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Must be licensed or able to obtain license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
  • Maintain and enhance the current level of knowledge relative to professional practice, as well as continuing education requirements necessary for licensure.
