GR0 is Hiring a Director, Finance Near Los Angeles, CA

THE OPPORTUNITY:

GR0 is looking for a resourceful and business partnership oriented Director, Finance to streamline the finance and accounting department’s operational functions, promote high efficiency across our company, and serve as a strategic business advisor to the executive team. 

This role oversees FP&A, accounting operations, audit and tax compliance, and manages a team of 2-3 FTEs. They will work full time in our modern Los Angeles office and report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

The ideal candidate for this vital role can tangibly improve processes while successfully managing their team in a fast-paced and challenging environment. We need someone process, people, and growth-driven who can combine these skills to make a meaningful impact at GR0.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Assess business opportunities and risks with a strong orientation to long term enterprise value creation.
  • Perform analysis of key business data, trends, and drivers, and advise on opportunities to maximize company profits.
  • Be a thought leader and partner cross-­functionally to drive operational efficiencies and strategic initiatives while helping non-financially oriented staff understand complex financial reports.
  • Train and mentor department staff to develop them professionally and ensure best practices are maintained.
  • Supervise accounts payable, billing, and collections to guarantee timely company cash flow and accurate month-end closing standards.
  • Oversee company payroll processing and administration while ensuring compliance to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Facilitate Approval Authority Policy (AAP) compliance across the business, establishing processes for speedy and accurate sign-off.
  • Manage financial reporting, including annual audit and tax preparation and review.
  • Develop financial models related to potential growth scenarios with various business factors.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • 7 years of finance and/or accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or startup environment.
  • 2 years of people management experience in a corporate finance department.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Proficiency with Google Drive Suite (Slides, Docs, Sheets) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Experience in Monday.com, Notion, Salesforce, PandaDoc, Quickbooks, Intacct, Tableau, Workday Adaptive Planning, Bill.com, and similar financial and project management softwares.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, preferably in accounting, finance, or business administration; MBA preferred.

WHAT DOES THE HIRING PROCESS ENTAIL:
  • Stage 1 (Recruiter Screen) - After you submit your application, our talent recruitment team will review and reach out to candidates. During this 20-minute phone call, we’ll discuss your career journey and professional motivators while learning about GR0 overall and the position.
  • Stage 2 (Hiring Manager Interview) - The first video interview with at least one GR0 team member will involve 30 minutes diving deeper into the GR0 processes, tools, core values, and company roadmap.
  • Stage 3 (Co-Founders Connect) - The second-to-last conversation of the interview process is always a chance for you to connect with our CEO and Co-Founder, Kevin Miller, and our Chief Growth Officer and Co-Founder, Jon Zacharias.
  • Stage 4 (Team Interview) - A 30 minute conversation with GR0 Finance team members. During this time, you will answer additional questions and have ample time to ask questions of us.
  • Stage 5 (Offer) - If a #GR0mance has brewed, we will make you a competitive offer and hope you’ll accept!
