Job Title: Project Manager - Heavy Civil Roadway and Site Development Construction

Location: Naperville, IL

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager to join our team with a focus on heavy civil roadway and site development construction projects. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in successfully overseeing construction projects from start to finish while also becoming a liasion for all parties involved. If you have experience in heavy civil roadway and excavation, grading, underground utility construction project management, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees construction projects from start to finish by developing a master project schedule that is updated and communicated to all subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and field personnel to assure timely project(s) completion.

  2. Establishes project(s) subcontract requirements and reviews these requirements with divisional management.

  3. Responsible for controlling costs and maintaining profitability for the project(s), utilizing extensive heavy construction experience.

  4. Continually monitors project(s) to assure company and regulatory procedures are adhered to.

  5. Monitors project(s) purchasing activities to assure quality material and timely delivery at competitive costs.

  6. Oversee change order pricing and justifications. Ensure these changes are invoiced promptly.

  7. Coordinates with engineers, inspectors, and clients/owner representatives to isolate project issues and assists field superintendent in developing solutions. 

  8. Reviews field construction activity, engineering, and other field project(s) support activities with field superintendent and provides support in ensuring projects remain on schedule and within projected budget. 

  9. Conducts regular project(s) inspections (min. one time per week) and advises project field superintendent of work progress and quality of work.

  10. Continuously supports safety and provides assistance to supervision in addressing areas and conditions requiring attention.

  11. Coordinates with Superintendents on work with subcontractors to ensure all subcontract work is within project(s) scope and specifications.

  12. Administers project(s) policies and procedures to subcontractors.

  13. Oversee the billings general collections process and ensure all monies are collected in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 4 years of experience working for a Sitework or Highway Contractor. Estimating experience, a strong plus.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft programs, Foundation, and B2W platform a plus.
  • Proven ability to create and manage budget.
  • Strong leadership and team skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail oriented.
