GovCIO is Hiring a Social Media Specialist Near Washington, DC

Overview

GovCIO is seeking a talented and creative Social Media Specialist to join our team to execute a results-driven social strategy to help grow our online presence, engage with our target audience, and drive brand awareness.

As a Social Media Specialist, you will create and execute our social media strategy. Collaborating with the marketing team, you will create a content calendar, manage our social media channels, and engage with our online community. Assisting in the development of our social media marketing strategy, you will monitor performance analytics and report on key metrics with the goals of increasing brand recognition, customer loyalty, and lead generation.

Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management:
    • Manage and maintain company profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook, InstagramThreads, and X (Twitter).
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement a social media content calendar, ensuring consistent and relevant posting.
    • Provide feedback on the social media strategy.
    • Monitor and respond to social media comments, messages, and mentions, maintaining GovCIO’s brand voice and tone.
    • Review performance analytics and create reports that reflect key metrics and takeaways.
  • Content Creation:
    • Write high-quality, succinct original copy for social media posts and promotional campaigns.
    • Ensure brand continuity among copy, content, channel, and performance goals (i.e., awareness, engagement, conversion). 
    • Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content.
    • Attend events and produce live social posts and post-event content.
  • Audience Engagement:
    • Foster and grow our online community by interacting with followers, customers, and industry influencers.
    • Analyze performance to optimize content and engagement strategies.
  • Paid Advertising:
    • Assist with paid advertising campaigns on social media platforms.
    • Monitor ad performance and make data-driven adjustments to improve ROI.
  • Social Media Trends and Research:
    • Stay up to date with the latest social media trends and algorithms.
    • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for growth and new platforms to explore.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's with 1 years' experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret social media performance data.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understand the nuances and timing for changes to tone and style
  • Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
  • Excellent social listening skills
  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools
  • Strong copy-writing and copy editing skills

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 /Yr.
