GovCIO is Hiring a Data Scientist Near Aurora, CO

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Data Scientist to support Assessments, Analysis, and Data Development for a government customer. This position will be located in Aurora, CO and will be an onsite position.

Responsibilities

Develops, inspects, mines, transforms, and analyzes data to create descriptive and predictive models that impact productivity, decision making, and provide strategic mission impact. Data Integration - Applies data wrangling tools including ETL, ELT, and programming languages to collect and blend data from operational and relevant external systems. Data Analysis -- Applies data mining, machine learning, and statistical analysis on data to create predictive and descriptive models. Applies and integrates these models to develop segmentation, clustering, forecasting, classification and other models. Data Visualization -- Applies Data discovery and data visualization tools to interpret and present the findings in a compelling and usable manner. Maintains and integrates analytical systems with operational systems, verifies the accuracy of the data and analytics. Interacts with both business and data SMEs.

1.Generates new business insights through data extraction, storage, transformation, analysis, and visualization of diverse data sets.2.Collects and transforms structured, unstructured, relational, and NoSQL data using ETL and ELT tools as well as develops custom code using programming languages. Understands and uses distributed (e.g. MapReduce) methods that scale to multi-Terabyte sized data collections.3.Analyzes data using data mining, machine learning, and statistical algorithms available in COTS tools (e.g. AWS Sagemaker, ElasticSearch); builds analytical solutions using programming languages (e.g. Python), and programming libraries (e.g. Python SciKit, PostgreSQL MADlib, Apache Spark MLlib).4.Interprets and evaluates accuracy of results through iterative, agile methods.5.Applies data discovery and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Trifacta, Kibana) to develop compelling, actionable, useful data stories.6.Works closely with data SMEs, business, and management to prioritize business and information needs.

Prepare and optimize numerical models predicting the likelihood and timing of future events using Machine Learning techniques and advanced data analysis. Use DEVOPS methods to ensure continuous operations and mission support. Migrate solutions to the Cloud to optimize performance and cost optimization.

Qualifications

High School with 6 -9 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience developing tools with Python
  • Experience performing data science, forecasting, and statistical analysis
  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI with CI Poly

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Pandas, Tensorflow, and PyTorch
  • Experience with Pyspark, Amazon SageMaker, Databricks
  • Experience with MLFlow and TensorBoard Management
  • Experience managing Machine Learning workflows in support of live, critical operations
  • Bachelors Degree in a STEM-related field

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
