How You Will Make an Impact :

We are looking for an Assistant Café Manager at our Norfolk Aquarium location. This position will help manage teams at two locations within the facility, ensure that the cafés run smoothly and efficiently, oversee private events, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Some tasks you will be responsible for :

• Opening Procedures : Complete proper setup by turning on the fryer and ovens and making sure everything is ready for the day.
• Daily Operations : Ensure food production meets specifications; maintain stock and product availability at both buildings;

assist staff in preparing orders, as needed.

• Staff Management : Lead the team by assigning tasks and ensuring everyone stays on task; maintain labor standards and make staffing adjustments when necessary.
• Inventory and Ordering : Conduct regular inventory of all products; order paper products and food supplies to maintain stock levels.
• Event Sales and Execution : Assist the Manager with booking catering for private events held at the Aquarium and help coordinate details including menu and staffing considerations.
• Customer Experience : Create a pleasant experience for guests and address any customer enquiries or complaints promptly.
• Closing Procedures : Oversee closing procedures and properly shut down the facilities.
• Reports : Run end-of-day reports to track sales and inventory.

What You Bring to the Table :

• Proven experience in restaurant or cafe management.
• Event sales / coordination experience a plus.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
