Job Overview

The Warehouse Safety Officer will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols, procedures, and compliance within our warehouse facilities. They will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees by conducting inspections, providing training, and fostering a culture of safety.

What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:

• Develop, implement, and maintain warehouse safety programs and policies in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of the warehouse facility, equipment, and work areas to identify potential hazards and risks.
• Create Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) reports for areas of concern and collaborate with relevant departments to address safety issues.
• Assist in incident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Provide comprehensive safety training for warehouse staff on procedures, emergency response, and proper use of safety equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of safety procedures, accidents, training records, and OSHA logs.
• Monitor facility security systems and support crisis management and emergency preparedness initiatives.
• Stay updated on OSHA and industry safety standards and translate regulations into practical operating procedures.

Things you need to be able to do:

• Proven experience in a warehouse safety role or similar capacity.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, procedures, and compliance standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with various levels of personnel.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and strategic planning skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software for documentation and analysis.
• Detail-oriented and capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Certification in safety management or a related field is a plus.
• Must be able to be exposed to a refrigerated and freezer environment, ranging from 0 - 36 degrees

Things that are a plus but not a deal-breaker:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Industrial Engineering, or relevant field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse safety management or a related industry.
• Familiarity with HACCP and food safety standards is advantageous.
