The Gould School Office of Undergraduate Law is seeking a self-motivated professional to join our collaborative team as a Student Services Advisor. This candidate will advance and promote our mission of introducing students to the concepts of law early in their undergraduate studies. This position will serve as the academic advisor for prospective and current students in the B.S in Legal Studies and Law Minor Programs. Our ideal candidate is team driven and will work closely with other members of our staff to help coordinate recruitment and outreach operations, oversee departmental day-to-day activities, coordinate classroom scheduling needs within and outside of Gould, engage with campus partners, administrative and other relevant units at the university, and support a foundation for strategic growth.
In addition to advising prospective and current students, the Student Services Advisor will assist with orientation, registration, undergraduate record services, accessibility services and other student services functions as requested. The Student Services Advisor will evaluate student problems, academic, administrative or personal, and refer students to the appropriate student services offices for additional counseling, and liaise with other offices on behalf of students to facilitate problem resolution.
The successful candidate will demonstrate skills and interest in academic advisement, recruitment and outreach, strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine interest in working with students, staff, and faculty involved with undergraduate courses and programs.
The hourly rate range for this position is $28.43 - $31.00 (approx. $55.4K - $60.5K annually), When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
