Goshen Community Schools is Hiring a Prairie View Elementary - Instructional Support Teacher - Kindergarten Near Indiana, IN

The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the 2024-25 school year:

Prairie View Elementary

Kindergarten Instructional Support Teacher

POSITION PURPOSE: Instructional Support teachers are actively involved in enhancing/supporting the teaching experience of career teachers. Their primary role is, with the principal, to analyze student data, create and institute academic achievement plans for the school and grade level teams, and guide teaching teams during PLC (Professional Learning Community) time weekly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Through the leadership team, collect, compile, analyze, and share data with PLC members from state, district, and local assessments, including common formative and summative assessments. Guide the creation of academic achievement plans for the PLC. With oversight and support from the administration, they guide PLC meetings and feedback to the principal concerning grade-level data, plans, and instruction. Instructional Support Teachers may be provided release time for follow-up depending on the needs of the building and grade-level team.

RESPONSIBILITIES (In collaboration with administration):

  • Be an integral part of the building leadership team which meets outside of the normal school day.
  • Support a positive school culture and exhibit a solution-based approach to challenges and engage in crucial conversations as needed.
  • Analyze student data and assist in creating school and grade-level achievement
  • With oversight of the administrator, plan and facilitate PLC grade level meetings/trainings and provide appropriate follow-up.
  • Assist in developing PLC team SMART goals and the strategies designed to meet these goals.
  • Develop agendas for PLC meetings.
  • Complete and submit PLC feedback forms to the building principal.
  • Create opportunities to celebrate short and long-term accomplishments.
  • Attend meetings as assigned.
  • Guide the integration of the NIET (National Institute for Excellence in Teaching) Teaching and Learning Standards Rubric into grade/content level planning.
  • Team with colleagues, demonstrate model lessons and develop and help implement curriculum.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by building and/or district administration.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Indiana Elementary Teaching License
  • Bachelor’s degree and full credentials
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient (minimum 3.0 or higher) teaching scores on NIET Teaching and Learning Standards Rubric
  • Training on the NIET Teaching and Learning Standards Rubric may be required depending on experience.
  • Familiarity with MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) structure and processes
  • High expectations for individual and team accountability
  • Ability to monitor and assign individual roles and responsibilities for PLC members
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality with records and professional relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated leadership in student learning, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Successful teaching experience with student data that illustrates the teacher’s ability to increase student achievement through utilizing special instructional interventions.

SALARY: Stipend determined by Master Contract
