Parkside Elementary
Kindergarten Instructional Support Teacher
POSITION PURPOSE: Instructional Support teachers are actively involved in enhancing/supporting the teaching experience of career teachers. Their primary role is, with the principal, to analyze student data, create and institute academic achievement plans for the school and grade level teams, and guide teaching teams during PLC (Professional Learning Community) time weekly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Through the leadership team, collect, compile, analyze, and share data with PLC members from state, district, and local assessments, including common formative and summative assessments. Guide the creation of academic achievement plans for the PLC. With oversight and support from the administration, they guide PLC meetings and feedback to the principal concerning grade-level data, plans, and instruction. Instructional Support Teachers may be provided release time for follow-up depending on the needs of the building and grade-level team.
