Goshen Community Schools is Hiring an ECSEC Clerical Service Support Facilitator Near Goshen, IN

The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the 2023-24 school year:

ECSEC

Clerical Service Support Facilitator

POSITION PURPOSE: Functions as an in-person facilitator for virtual and contracted special education services/evaluations. Works in conjunction with virtual and contracted providers, as well as ECSEC staff, to assist in the facilitation of activities such as: coordinating scheduling and communication among stakeholders, therapy services, special education evaluations, screenings, and/or case conferencing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

    • Engages in effective communication and collaboration with students, families, staff and virtual and contracted providers in the scheduling and facilitation of conferences, evaluations and services.
    • Assists ECSEC Staff (school psychologists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Behavior Resource Consultants) with evaluation/testing data and scheduling of meetings.
    • Prepares for the virtual/contracted facilitation of services as needed by: prepping materials, maintaining the physical environment, and managing students all under the guidance and direction of the virtual/contracted service provider and/or ECSEC staff.
    • Assists the virtual/contracted provider in providing appropriate individualized and/or group services to students as directed.
    • Monitors students participating in virtual and onsite services to ensure fidelity of implementation.
    • Implements behavioral strategies as identified in student’s individualized education plans (IEPs/SPs).
    • Records and summarizes data as directed by the virtual/contracted provider.
    • Maintains regular communication with the virtual/contracted service provider as appropriate for the services being provided.
    • Helps to facilitate communication and resolution of student issues and problems in concerts with families, staff, and virtual/contracted service providers.
    • Maintains confidentiality of student and staff information.
    • Utilizes a sensitive approach to student development, diversity, special population needs and multicultural issues.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the director of Special Education to meet the particular needs of ECSEC.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • High School diploma or equivalent and 60 hours of college credit or pass the Para-Pro examination.
    • Experience collaborating with colleagues, dealing with families and/or students from a diverse range of economic, social and ethnic backgrounds.
    • Previous experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
    • Ability to accurately record and summarize data as directed and to understand the individual needs of students identified in their individualized student plans and a willingness to participate in trainings as indicated.
    • Experience and/or familiarity with technological equipment, virtual learning platforms, and Microsoft or Google products (Google Docs, Google Meets, Google Sheets, etc.) preferred.
    • Ability to communicate verbally and in print effectively and thoughtfully with parents, staff, students and other stakeholders.
    • Ability to identify, research and resolve concerns through knowledge of special education programs and services.
    • Awareness of the need for sensitivity to the emotion related to meeting the needs of students with special needs and their families.

HOURS: 36 weeks; number of days per year varies (3-5 weekly); number of hours per week varies (20-40 hours)
