This position is one of 80 Long Island Insurance remote, hybrid and in-office positions we are discreetly filling for our clients. Salaries range between $50,000 and $250,000

Location Westbury, NY

Salary $70-90,000 Excellent Benefits 

Our Client, one of the most recognized and respected Insurance brokerages on Long Island seeks a talented Accounting, Payroll Administrator That can exercises a high level of independent judgment and extreme discretion when performing job responsibilities consistent with processing and accounting-related objectives. In this role

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Planning, coordinating, and managing all functions of payroll for over 200 employees
  • Liaise with external auditors, third-party vendors, state and federal agencies as needed.
  • Biweekly activities include complex work relating to the preparation, processing and maintenance of payroll Reconciliation and funding of Payroll, 401K, HSA, FSA accounts via various vendor portals
  • Resolve employee inquiries regarding payroll deductions including inquiries and seeking resolution Enrollment of eligible employees into 401k Plan
  • Disbursement of employee benefit related expenses (medical insurance, dental insurance, voluntary benefits, etc.)
  • Perform accurate and timely bi-weekly transmission of payroll
  • Investigate and effectuate necessary changes in ADP (salary, department, payroll deductions, etc.)
  • Facilitate issuance of manual payroll checks required due to error correction or
  • Maintain all payroll-related documentation (including Change of Status, 401(k) elections, etc. including approvals) to support each payroll in a complete and organized fashion
  • Creation of ADP customized reports for required analysis and in response to inquiries and requests
  • Audit and reconcile benefit deductions to vendor invoices
  • Investigate and settle discrepancies between company payroll deductions and benefit vendor payments
  • Communicate any discrepancies and their resolution to CTO and Controller
  • Investigate and explain to employees and management any discrepancies discovered in payroll processing
  • Continuously collaborate with ADP and other vendors to update our processes and ensure timely processing Evaluate the payroll process and address shortfalls and redundancies 
  • Process monthly commission payments to Account Executives and Producers
  • Prepare, document, and record all journal entries into General Ledger that pertain to all aspects of payroll Authorize, monitor, and maintain a control listing of all payroll garnishment notices
  • Complete and coordinate the completion of verification forms for employees (personal loans, mortgages, etc.)
  • Prepare monthly analysis of actual vs budget payroll variances by department and submit to Controller and CFOief 
  • Perform all payroll tax payments by employee/department and ensure accurate recording to general ledger
  • Assist company third party administrator in administration of 401K plan including loan requests (coordinates forms), disbursement requests, changes in contributions, etc.
