Description

Position Description:

Under direct supervision, this entry-level position is part of a team responsible for safely and effectively operating and monitoring production line machinery; maintaining a clean and safe working environment; and producing quality finished stage products in a fast and efficient manner while meeting varying production and quality goals. The BLKO must work effectively in a team environment, as well as being reliable and focused.

Essential duties to be performed accurately and routinely include, but are not limited to:

  • Operates and monitors high speed bottling line and kegging machines; replenishes materials as needed
  • Perform sanitation and sterilization functions of line machinery and ensure all machinery is clean and sterile for packaging operations within the company’s strict quality framework and in keeping with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Performs hourly quality tests and verifications
  • Cleans and/or re-working bottles and labels
  • Assists maintenance departments in minor repairs of production line machinery including but not limited to change overs
  • Completes associated paperwork/computer input
  • Documents line performance & related issues
  • Throughout the shift maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment; cleans machine stations at the end of each shift, before punching out for the day
  • May also work as a Repacker intermittently
  • Complies with all Safety Quality Food (SQF) System protocol as it applies to the employee’s specific job duties and the overall operations of the company
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and/or required

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications - the ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid class C state of California driver’s license
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Preferred:
    • Two (2) or more years of experience as a machine operator
    • One (1) or more years of experience operating a forklift in a brewery or warehouse environment

Working Conditions:

  • Adapt to changes in brewing, packaging and production schedules and work various schedules, which may also include: additional shifts or hours, swing, on-call or night shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime as operations dictate. Additionally, management reserves the right to temporarily or permanently revise working hours to meet the needs of the company
  • Safely work around and communicate in a hot, cold, wet, damp, slick, and loud indoor/outdoor production environment for extended periods of time
  • Safely handle and work around moving machinery, mechanical devices, chemicals, gasses, and hot liquids in high places and confined spaces
  • Maintain personal sobriety. Employees are also prohibited from consuming unauthorized alcohol during working hours, including meal and break periods, and before or after working hours anywhere on the 357 East Taylor Street Brewery facility or while working off-site. Additionally, when tasting as it relates to the requirements of this job or the employee attends an event at the brewery or a brewery sponsored event, an employee must never surpass the legal alcohol consumption limit as defined by the state, nor be mentally or physically impaired

Pay Range

$20.00-$25.00 per hour DOE
