GORDON ALUMINUM INDUSTRIES is Hiring a Maintenance Mechanic [Tech B]- 3rd Near Schofield, WI

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic [Tech] B performs basic machine maintenance, except for unsupervised work on energized equipment. Other maintenance responsibilities include basic facilities maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
• Monitoring and checking fluid levels on manufacturing equipment.
• Performances daily preventative maintenance on equipment and is responsible for basic preventative maintenance for all manufacturing equipment, including oil changes, greasing, etc.
• Daily rounds communicating with operators about issues they may have with the equipment. Understanding the Operators are the maintenance department’s customers.
• Reports any unsafe operating conditions observed in manufacturing equipment, follows all safety protocol for each piece of equipment.
• Performs basic facilities maintenance and assists with facilities upkeep and repair. May assist and take direction from Maintenance Mechanic [Tech] A.
• Work well with other employees and maintain a positive attitude when discussing a break down with other employees or when given work assignments. Demonstrate teamwork towards your fellow employees and management.
• Adheres to all OSHA and company policies and procedures, including Authorized LOTO procedures. Recognizes and reports unsafe work areas or conditions when discovered. Lead by example when working safe.
• Communicate with manager, and other Maintenance team members, to assure operating condition of equipment.
• Performs routine housekeeping activities in the department, and the shop.
• Performs assigned daily tasks, completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
• Performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Federal, State, and local standards and regulations.
• Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding safety and standards of workplace behavior, in completing job duties and assignments
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Requirements:
Must maintain certification in powered industrial vehicles, including Fork Lift.
Training in OSHA regulations, including Lock-out/Tag-out required.
Completion of OSHA 10 hour course.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical Demands
Physical Demands refers to the level and/or duration of physical exertion generally required to perform occupational takes (sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing and pulling).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk. Perform repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, shoulders and upper body. The employee if regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, taste and smell.
The employee will frequently lift 10 to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required for this position include color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee will occasionally be exposed to work in high, precarious places, caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather), and vibrations.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Hearing protection is required on the production floor.
Employee is expected to wear the required personal protective equipment when on the production floor.
