GORDON ALUMINUM INDUSTRIES is Hiring a Fabrication Lead Near Schofield, WI

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Fabrication Lead ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Fabrication Lead will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
The general purpose of the Fabrication Lead is to work under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor to help the team to work safely and efficiently while maintaining focus on Quality.
•Evaluating workflow and staying in communication with Supervisor and Department Manager.
•Address any quality concerns.
•Assist employees with questions referring complex questions to the Supervisor.
•Ensure proper quality checks and documentation are performed.
•Ensures proper machine setup.
•Works as a machine operator when Lead responsibilities are limited.
•Provides training to all new team members and coaching to current team members.
•Provides recommendations in areas of policy development, process change, quality improvements, cost reductions, etc.
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
•Performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Federal, State, and local standards and regulations.
•Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding safety and standards of workplace behavior, in completing job duties and assignments
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
Wear required safety equipment when on the shop floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear. Perform repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, shoulders and upper body. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, climb, balance, stop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
The employee must frequently lift up to 10 pounds. Occasionally the employee will have to lift 25 to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to west or humid conditions (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Hearing protection is required.
Employee is expected to wear the required personal protective equipment when on the production floor.
