Qualifications


POSITION SUMMARY

The Coordinator - Business Relations establishes relationships with local employers and engages them substantively in a variety of strategies and activities to secure job and externship opportunities for individuals served through the Workforce Development and Educational Unit of Goodwill. The Business Relations Coordinator markets Goodwill and workforce development services to community businesses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Upholds and models Goodwill's mission, core values, and servant leadership philosophy.
  2. Develop a customer base of prospective employers in high-demand industry clusters from directories, networking, cold calling, and other sources.
  3. Establish and nurture long-term relationships with local employers and engage them substantively in a variety of strategies and activities ranging from: assessing current and future employment needs and skill requirements, developing training curriculums, participating in career exploration activities, creating on-the-job training opportunities, hiring Goodwill participants, providing employee retention and advancement opportunities, and contracting Goodwill Business Services.
  4. Achieve all job leads generation goals and manage those leads from opening through fulfillment and closing of the lead.
  5. Ensure the needs of employers are being met by continuously assessing their needs, identifying their pain points, and utilizing that information to provide input to the operation team on program design and delivery.
  6. Organize employer events. Represent and promote Goodwill at public speaking events, conferences, and community leadership meetings. Lead quarterly Goodwill Industry Alliance Council meetings.
  7. Promote GCA students needing externships to local businesses and employers. Establish externships for GCA students and track time worked and progress.
  8. Maintain high employer satisfaction through ongoing communication, quickly responding to clients’ issues or complaints, and take actions to resolve.
  9. Solicit employer feedback, referrals, and lead strategic account development efforts to expand the relationship.
  10. Ensures all metrics, including engagement targets, job openings generation and filled rates, job placement, and employer satisfaction, are monitored and maintained regularly.
  11. Keep CRM updated with complete contact information, prospecting and engagement activities, meeting notes, etc.
  12. Assist with preparing for and participating in community job and career fairs.
  13. To accommodate business needs and objectives, other duties may be assigned by leadership.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Associate’s Degree Equivalent Work Experience may be accepted in lieu of education.
  2. 3 years’ experience in non-profit, social services, workforce development, staffing, or B to B sales preferred.
  3. Experience in workforce development and community partnerships is preferred.
  4. Strong interpersonal and community engagement skills, with proven record of sustaining productive community and business relationships.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively collaborate with multiple constituencies to achieve mission goals.
  6. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  7. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
