Pay range: $20.19
JOB SUMMARY
Act as the primary point of contact for the participants to receive employment assistance and follow-up services. This position will work with participants to set short and long-term employment goals. In addition, develop and manage proactive relationships with businesses and provide employment preparedness services and training that will lead to permanent placement of persons served.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide employment and training services in probation and other contracts.
  • Develop, update, and modify each participant's Individual Development Plan (IDP).
  • Accurately update each participant’s electronic file with weekly status updates regarding job search, training, employment placement, and follow-up.
  • Meet one-on-one with participants to discuss needed resources, education, or employment services.
  • Administer required assessments to participants based on their education or employment interests and needs.
  • Meet face-to-face at least weekly with participants to ensure goals are met. Provide regular updates on participants in common referring agencies, employers, and other staff assisting with the self-sufficiency of each participant
  • Provide follow-up services for 1 year after placement.
  • Utilize computerized case management software to enroll and case notes for participants on the caseload. The same software provides tracking for each service, assessment, and referral.
  • Facilitate classes, and workshops, and attend hiring/recruiting events as needed in various locations within Goodwill’s service area.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with area businesses and other community-based organizations.
  • Refer and communicate with local community partners to make the connection between the participant and their needed services.
  • Maintain a good relationship with community agencies and keep current on resources throughout the community.
  • Screen participants to match skill sets and interests to the needs of employers to ensure the placement is beneficial for both parties. Refer participants to internal training as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with program staff in evaluating the optimal use of work-based learning opportunities.
  • Ensure that participant records are organized and legible following Goodwill policies and procedures and CARF requirements.
  • Meet or exceed performance expectations defined in the Program Evaluation efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction measures.
  • Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position.
  • Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of professional customer service, business relations, or case management experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must be able to travel within the Goodwill service area using personal transportation
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
  • Must have good computer skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sedentary
Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Limited
General office environment infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.)
