Position Summary

Responsible for sourcing, acquiring and onboarding talent for current and future open positions within Goodwill. Develops and implements recruiting plans and strategies designed to fulfill company staffing needs. Develops and maintains positive relationships with key individuals and organizations to develop pipelines of talent.

Essential Duties

(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)

1. Operates independently to source, present, recommend and onboard candidates for open positions. Partners with hiring managers and others to create and implement a comprehensive needs analysis, sourcing strategy, and success criteria for each open position. Creates and executes a plan to ensure ability to fill open roles in an efficient manner, with quality candidates. Manages the full recruiting lifecycle across a variety of open roles (typically 90% non-exempt / 10% exempt) up to the director level. Meets or exceeds staffing goals and objectives to include time to fill, positions filled, candidate and hiring manager feedback, and retention. Ensures conformance to professional, governmental, and regulatory standards to include Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act.

2. Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with key internal stakeholders at all levels to proactively understand future hiring needs and identify qualified candidates. Proactively remains up-to-date on knowledge of organizational employment needs and requirements. Acts as subject matter expert and advisor to hiring managers and others on legal requirements associated with hiring and interviewing.

3. Actively identifies and secures new sources for candidates including external vendors, high schools, veterans, military, CEC candidates, disabled, retirees and others. Determines best sources for attracting qualified candidates. Builds relationships with organizations and groups to surface talent for open positions. Provides active participation in job fairs, community events and school opportunities to grow Goodwill’s brand and exposure. Stays active and engaged with job boards, social networks, and other platforms to find talent. Presents Goodwill as an employer of choice to grow their career.

4. Grows and fosters high-touch relationships with a database of qualified active and passive talent to source from as new positions surface. Educates applicants about facilities, operations, benefits, training, and career opportunities in the organization.

5. Conducts reference and background checks on applicants. Ensures drug screens are administered per policy. Administers pre-employment assessments as required. Manages candidate onboarding process through New Hire Orientation.

6. Partners with other Talent Acquisition Specialists and Talent Acquisition Manager to improve existing policies and procedures. Educates and advises managers and associates on staffing policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance

• High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

• 1-3 years’ recruiting experience including use of an applicant tracking system preferred.

• No professional certifications are required for this position.

• Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.

• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass both state and federal criminal background checks.

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and partner with individuals at all levels and of all backgrounds.

• Strong software capabilities to include: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. required.

• Demonstrated ability to build implementation plans and execute against them.

• Demonstrates strong work ethic, integrity, ability to self manage, and operate independently

• Demonstrates high degree of teamwork and assists others as needed.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions

• General Office Position - The associate is required to lift up to 10 pounds maximum.

• The associate works in a general office environment and is infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).

• The associate is required to travel throughout the Goodwill service area.

• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
