Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: The E-Commerce Lister I is a fulltime position under supervision of the E-Commerce Manager. The E-Commerce Lister I identifies and selects donated products for sale online, thoroughly examines each product to determine the correct condition, manufacturer and other pertinent criteria, takes detailed, clear and appropriate photos, writes concise, appealing and accurate descriptions necessary to list items on the best online platform available to maximize E-Commerce sales. Specific tasks will be assigned by the E-Commerce Manager.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determines that the donated product meets the minimum criteria & value. Verify items on the store’s manifest.
  • List and photograph items accurately and concisely to minimize the need for customer inquiries.
  • Observe, photograph, and thoroughly disclose any quality issues or damage to items.
  • Identify rare, collectible and/or unique items which will generate higher online selling prices.
  • Clean & test products as needed.
  • Assist with customer service electronic inquiries.
  • Ensure clean & organized product shelving and storage areas
  • Provide accurate box sizes and product weight to ensure proper packaging for shipping and accurate customer charges.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and possible solutions under the direction of the E-Commerce Manager.
  • Complete daily tasks as assigned by the E-commerce Manager
  • Ensures own on-line buying and selling does create a conflict of interest or a perception of a conflict of interest for the organization.

Incidental Functions:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Knowledge of antiques and collectibles highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of digital camera use, and ability to take acceptable digital photos for online listings.
  • Previous experience writing for on-line auctions preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, including reading and writing in English.
  • Ability to interpret books, book covers, and genres.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have an inclination toward multi-tasking, repetitive and routine tasks.
  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of online software and research preferred.
  • Experience listing comparable merchandise on online platforms preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must not present a direct threat to the safety and health of self, others or property.
  • Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
  • Must be able to perform essential functions of the E-Commerce Lister I job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must meet qualitative and quantitative performance standards as established by the company.

WORK CONDITIONS/HAZARDS:

  • Limited hazards due to lifting, pulling, and pushing merchandise by self or others.
  • Requires a high level of adaptability and flexibility. Work environment usually hectic (fast paced) with frequent short deadlines and regular instances of critical or unusual situations.
  • Field of work includes production area, and store showroom.
  • May require travel to Goodwill locations.
