Job Description

SUMMARY: The Job Link Coordinator will assists consumers in applying for jobs on-line, building a resume and proviing instruction on how to job search. The Job Link Coordinator will assist individuals by directing them to websites using Goodwill computers.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Provides individualized placement services. Assists in the development of achievable employment goals. 2. Provides documentation of progress. 3. Responsible for assisting community members accessing services at the Job Link Center to complete a resume, conduct computerized job search, apply for community job openings, fill out applications, practice interview skills, and follow-up with employer after interview. 4. Responsible for making referrals to, and for, community support resources, and maintaining good working relationships with referral agencies. 5. Responsible for completing reports and all appropriate paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. 6. Responsible for demonstrating good work habits for employees, program participants, and community members, maintain a good attitude towards the operation of the entire facility, and being a positive role model for individuals receiving rehabilitation services. 7. Responsible for providing assistance with training and direction to all Job Link Center participants. 8. Responsible for facilitating work readiness workshops. 9. Responsible for maintaining a high level of confidentiality regarding individuals receiving services (employees and community members). 10. Responsible for assisting in other areas as requested.

Required Skills

1. Proficient in standard computer operations systems and relevant software. 2. Must have computer skills sufficient to perform the requirements of the position. 3. Must be able to work independently. Must have effective vocational counseling skills

Required Education

1. Associate degree preferred or a combination of education and experience may be substituted for required education. 2. Two years experience working with people with disabilities or who were disadvantaged. Bilingual, English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Required Experience

1. Experience in job development for individuals with multiple barriers to employment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other team members. 2. Must be familiar with the local community support and training skills 3. Must be able to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean and well groomed appearance. 4. Must provide support services by working with disabled/disadvantaged persons and assisting in the rehabilitation process of Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc.
