Description

Job Objective:

The Mission Services Training Manager is responsible for providing dynamic, classroom and hands-on training to all levels of Mission employees, developing curriculum, conducting orientation and assisting in the smooth onboarding experience for new employees. This position reports to the Director of Mission Services who evaluates performance annually.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Knows and understands the Goodwill Mission: Strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training and job placement.
  • Travel to various Mission hubs in to conduct orientation and training duties.
  • Dynamic communicator with the ability to go through hands on training interaction and ensure Mission employees experience a smooth onboarding into their new roles.
  • Must be able to work well with the Program Managers and Mission Services Directors to ensure training needs are met.
  • Partner with Human Resources Trainer team to develop Mission employee orientation.
  • Provide clear expectations around policies and procedures, directions, coaching and performance feedback.
  • Prepare progress reports of training conducted, effectiveness of training and attainment of goals. Ensure that all designated parties are aware of their progress.
  • Gather feedback from Mission employees on training needs.
  • Communicate with professionalism and respect (both internal and external customers).
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Teaching and/or group facilitation skills and experience a must.
  • Previous experience working in a Goodwill Mission program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to function under pressure, be self-directed, and be responsible for carrying out job related activities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use discretion and sound judgment when working independent of supervision and interpreting and implement general placement policies.
  • Ability to adjust to a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to communicate orally and hear clearly.
  • Ability to use MS Office Suite at an advanced level, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit program management, grant writing or fundraising.
  • Familiarity with job readiness training and job placement programs is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Travel to meetings and events within the community.
