Our 83-acre Winrock Town Center that includes a two-acre park with a waterfall and large pond will be a horticultural masterpiece. We are looking for an individual to help maintain this magnificent property. We are seeking a knowledgeable individual with commercial landscaping experience.

  • Become an important member of our landscaping crew.
  • Install, maintain and repair irrigation.
  • Install, maintain and replenish landscaping beds and display areas.
  • Trim trees and bushes.
  • Knowledge of construction a plus.

Schedule may vary and you should be available to work weekends. Pay based upon experience.

LEAD LanDSCAPE PRofessional FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Site Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Landscape Professional will be responsible for maintaining mixed use commercial retail property, performing all landscaping and groundskeeping tasks, while actively supervising landscape crew.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: NOTE: Goodman Realty Group may unilaterally change the requirements of this job description at any time. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for completing all groundskeeping activities and supervising our outside contractors and field crew.
  • Responsible for designing, landscaping, planting, mowing, pruning, watering, fertilizing, irrigation and disease control.
  • Responsible for maintaining the property and parking areas in all aspects, i.e., removing snow, cement repairs, trash removal and general clean-up.
  • Prepare service estimates based on labor, material, and machine costs and maintain budgets for individual projects.
  • Schedule work for landscape crew, depending on work priorities, crew or equipment availability, or weather conditions.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained, and work is completed according to specifications and contract requirements.
  • Responsible for the inventory, maintenance and tracking of all landscape equipment, tools, and vehicles.
  • Perform personnel-related activities, such as hiring workers, evaluating staff performance, or taking disciplinary actions when performance problems occur.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as authorizing leaves or processing time sheets.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate work activities with those of other departments or units.
  • Review contracts or work assignments to determine service, machine, or workforce requirements for jobs.
  • Order the performance of corrective work when problems occur and recommend procedural changes to avoid such problems.
  • Recommend changes in working conditions or equipment used to increase crew efficiency.
  • Assist others with various projects and tasks on an as needed basis and directed by manager/supervisor.
  • Ability to be on call and respond during non-standard working hours.
  • Wears all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment that is required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience performing the essential functions of this position.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management/supervisory experience with two or more employees.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners.
  • Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload to meet client needs.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
  • A valid New Mexico driver's license, vehicle insurance, good driving record and reliable vehicle.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to high.
  • Work is performed outdoors with exposure to the elements including heat, cold, rain, wind and other weather conditions.
  • Must be able to travel (10%) within the metropolitan area.
