Responsibilities
The Nurse Manager will monitor and assess the department staff and activities to ensure around-the-clock delivery of quality patient care in the clinical setting. The manager will provide administrative direction to development and evaluation of nursing staff and maintain operation aspect of the unit in collaboration with nursing administration. Will contribute to nursing and hospital administration through support of philosophy, objectives, and education efforts. When involved in direct patient care or while supervising the unit has principal responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient.
Qualifications or Skills Required
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. ACLS, PALS, & TNCC required within 1 year. Must demonstrate the ability to coordinate and delegate care of patients to other members of the team. Preparation of patient assignments based on patient acuity and staff competency levels. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting may be required.
