Good Samaritan Shelter is Hiring a Front Desk Administrative Assistant Near Santa Maria, CA

830am-5pm Monday - Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This role as a Front Desk Associate within the Accounting Department. This position will be pivotal in maintaining a positive and efficient front desk experience while supporting our administrative team.

  • Manage front desk activities, including greeting visitors and ensuring a positive first impression of the company.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate department.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and organizing documents.
  • Assist with clerical tasks related to the accounting department, including document filing, data entry, and organization.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks, including badge creation, printing, scanning, and other administrative duties.
  • Support office staff with various projects and tasks as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks within the accounting department, such as organizing documents, maintaining files, and responding to inquiries.
  • Help manage customer invoicing, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on overdue payments
  • Be prepared to respond to crises promptly and effectively, providing immediate assistance and access to appropriate resources when needed.
  • Responsible for promptly notifying the manager of any work orders that need to be submitted or supplies that need to be ordered.
  • Responsible for attending staff meetings, ensuring timely completion of training, and accurately completing timecards.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Employment Eligibility Verification:

Negative Tuberculosis Test:

  • Must provide documentation of a recent negative tuberculosis (TB) test result to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Background Screening:

  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background screening, which may include criminal record checks, employment history verification, and reference checks.

Pre-Employment Drug Screening:

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a drug-free workplace. A negative drug test result is required.

Driving Skills:

  • Possess strong driving skills and have a valid driver's license.
  • Driving is an essential function of the position, and a clean driving record may be required.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license or obtain one before the start of employment.
