Summary
A registered respiratory therapist / RRT performs critical and non-critical respiratory care procedures and diagnostics through physician directives. Selected cross training activities and precepting of students and new staff as directed. The Registered Respiratory Therapist / RRT utilizes sound knowledge and proficiency in the treatment of cardiopulmonary disorders for inpatients and outpatients of all ages with various types of media, ie, Oxygen, other Therapeutic gases and aerosol inhalation. Respiratory Care Equipment, Mechanical Ventilation, Blood Gas Sampling/Analysis and all other aspects of respiratory therapeutic treatments. The Registered Respiratory Therapist / RRT establishes a good rapport with fellow associates while maintaining a professional relationship.
The Registered Respiratory Therapist / RRT reports to the Respiratory Care Director and/or Respiratory Care Manager/Supervisor. The Registered Respiratory Therapist / RRT performs above duties in all areas of the hospital and off site emergency department as assigned. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Required: graduate of an AMA accredited respiratory care program.
