About us: Good News is a growing church in Broomfield, Colorado, filled with people of all ages. We don't just exist to do church services on Sundays but rather to introduce people to Jesus and make disciples who love God, love others, and serve the world. If you’re the right person for this job it’s not because you love playing and singing contemporary worship music (although that’s good too), but because you’re passionate about seeing men and women, boys and girls put their faith in Jesus Christ.

The Director of Worship is the chief architect and team leader of the church’s worship ministry for the purpose of helping Good News Community Church live out its mission “to be and to make disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love others, and serve the world.”

Anticipated Time Commitment: Approximately 14 hours per week.

Specific Responsibilities For The Director Of Worship:
-Provide leadership, planning, and strategy for worship services that help people connect with and honor God.
-Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan and organize weekly worship services, plus occasional special services such as baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
-Oversee and coordinate, through a team of volunteers, all aspects of the worship service, specifically the order of service, music, audio, video, and the sanctuary, plus the video streaming of services.
-Able to sing and play a lead instrument, such as guitar or keys.
-Recruit, lead, train, support, and assist volunteers throughout the worship service who serve throughout the worship ministry -you can’t do everything all by yourself.
-Coach, invest in, train, and bring out the potential in your volunteers to build a team that works together.
-Ensure Good News’ level of quality throughout the worship service, not just the music.
-Responsible for the set-up, clean-up, purchase, and maintenance of music, audio, video, and streaming equipment.

Expectations Of All Staff:
-Maintain a healthy, growing relationship with God, through the Bible and prayer.
-Hold a Bible centered, evangelical Christian theology.
-Hold the conviction that the local church exists to bring glory to God through both evangelism of non-Christians and discipleship of believers.
-Become an Owner of Good News Church (kind of like membership).
-Consistently set and strive towards goals for your area of ministry.
-Actively participate in weekly staff meeting and/or a monthly meeting with direct report.
-Maintain healthy relationships with the congregation and the leadership.
-Engage in lifelong learning through books, coaching, conferences, classes, and more.
-Communicate about your area of ministry to the leadership, the congregation, and the community.
-Be ready to laugh and enjoy life -don’t be a stick in the mud.
