About Good Batch Mama
Good Batch Mama is a family-owned business providing the greater Tri-Cities region with delicious homemade frozen meals and full-service custom catering. For the past six years, we have been working to make it easier for families and friends to gather over food they are proud to serve without the hassle of prep or cleanup because we believe any time spent around the table is time well spent.
Job Summary
This is a heavy part-time/full-time (30 to 40 hours) on-site role for a Kitchen Team Member. Kitchen Team Members are responsible for assisting in the day-to-day food creation and preparation activities of Good Batch Mama’s kitchen, including prepping frozen meals, catering menus, and other ordered food. This role is also responsible for assisting the entire team with maintaining a strong preparation pace to ensure all scheduled tasks are done in a timely manner and for maintaining the highest quality standards for all items prepped. Because of this hands-on role with all Good Batch Mama food, all Kitchen Team Members undergo rigorous training to ensure all processes and standards are understood and applied. A successful candidate will have excellent teamwork skills, a strong work ethic, organization skills, and robust attention to detail.
This role is often involved with Good Batch Mama’s weekly home delivery as catering schedules allow.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation of weekly frozen meals, catering menus, and any other food scheduled for delivery
- Assist with scheduling and maintaining pace in the kitchen to complete the necessary prep in a timely manner without compromising safety or quality
- Comply with all relevant Health Department guidelines to ensure the safety of all food prepped, stored and/or delivered in Good Batch Mama’s kitchen
- Maintain the highest level of quality for all food prep with all attention to detail, including following preparation recipes, to ensure customers have a fantastic experience each time
- Serve the needs of customers who walk in or call to place an order, walking them through the checkout process as necessary
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be able to work actively for a majority of their 7 - 8-hour shift in both warm or cool conditions.
- Applicants must be able to work effectively independently and in a team environment
- Team members will be expected to interact with other team members positively and respectfully, follow instructions from kitchen leads, and maintain high-quality work.
- All applicants must be teachable and willing to learn, as they must learn and follow core processes critical to consistent product creation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong problem-solving skills
- Applicants must be willing to comply with office policies, including dress code and conduct expectations, and comply with all relevant Health Department guidelines for safe food prep.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- 1 year(s) experience in food service or other food concept
- Scheduling and shift management experience
