SUMMARY:
Assist and support Quality Engineers by providing expertise to resolve Quality issues discovered within the prototype or production process. Ensure that the product meets customer (internal and external) requirements at each stage of the development and manufacturing processes through the utilization of drawings, measurement tools and engineering specifications. Accurately document and report quality data ensuring adherence to the Quality policy and Quality Management System at all stages.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Use measurement tools to perform inspections and completed required documentation for record keeping.
· Responsible for collecting, documenting and reporting accurate build and inspection records.
· Inspection and auditing of all components and stages of the manufacturing process.
· Investigate any quality issues to identify root cause and initiate appropriate corrective actions ensuring issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
· Support regular production meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
· Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO/IATF standards.
· Conduct preventative and continuous improvement actions relating to product, process, and quality systems.
· Any other tasks requested from time-to-time and those required to be done to support a successful project.
· Be aware of and work to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as set by the Quality team.
· Attend various meetings/trainings and proactively carry out action items.
· Write reports and supply appropriate information to management when required.
· Assist the Quality Engineer with new product introduction and series production activities.
· Perform quality lab analyses as required.
· Track quality lab equipment/tooling calibration dates and arrange for required calibrations as required.
· Perform process capability analysis using Minitab software or other statistical tools.
· Other activities to support the Quality department as deemed necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Associates degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology or related field. (Preferred not required)
· 2 years of experience and/or training in an Automotive Electronics, Battery Technology or a related field preferred.
· Strong quantitative and qualitative capabilities are a plus.
· Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
· 1 – 7 years of Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier with experience in launch environment preferred.
· Hands-on experience or knowledge of Automotive Manufacturing and related Manufacturing techniques preferred.
QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Comply with requirements of the Quality Operating System (QOS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2008
· Identify concerns and initiate corrective actions (through verification) relating to product, process and quality systems
· Initiate preventative and continuous improvement actions relating to product, process and quality systems
HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
· Follow safe work procedures established by the Company; and follow the OH&S directions of the head of your department or supervisor
· Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems
· Where PPE is required to control exposure to hazards in the workplace, wear and maintain the PPE as directed, as indicated in a risk assessment, or as required in OH&S procedures
· Use other safety and emergency equipment provided in the workplace as directed or as required in OH&S procedures
· Assist with the preparation of risk assessments
· Before commencing work or research, a risk assessment should be conducted to identify, assess and control the hazards associated with the work or research. This should be conducted in conjunction with other relevant staff, researchers and the supervisor
· Report OH&S problems
· Report workplace hazards to the supervisor as soon as possible after they occur
· Report injury or illness arising from workplace activities using the incident/injury reporting system as soon as possible after the incident
· Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
· Complete monthly H&S inspections
