Job Title: Facility Maintenance Technician
FLSA Status: Full Time
Summary: Goldfish Swim School is a leading provider of swim lessons for children ages 4 months-12 years old. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and maintaining high standards of quality. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team and contribute to the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. We are looking for a skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility of preserving the good condition and functionality of our company's facilities. The successful candidate will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as HVAC system maintenance, plumbing repairs, electrical installations, mechanical work, and other tasks as needed. A keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently are essential qualities for this role.
Travel Expectations: Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens, Long Island, occasionally to Maryland & Massachusetts
Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following
  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functionality of all equipment, systems, and facilities.
    • For example, but not limited to repairing pool platforms, pool pump room maintenance, pool chemicals and chemical systems, drywall & paint repairs.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address any issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general building repairs with efficiency and professionalism.
    • For example, replacing pool pumps, replacing HVAC fans and motors.
  • Vendor Management: As external are needed, coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services, repairs, and installations, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards. Conduct periodic safety inspections and address any safety hazards promptly.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for facility maintenance, ensuring adequate stock levels and efficient use of resources.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs. Generate reports as needed to track maintenance expenses, trends, and performance metrics.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including facilities management, and operations to address facility-related issues and support company initiatives.
  • Weekly Maintenance: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization in facility maintenance operations. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Job Qualifications
  • Previous experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a regional or multi-site environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing facility-related issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must have a valid Certified Pool Operator certification. If you don't currently hold this certification, don't worry! We'll cover the cost for you to obtain it within the first few months of your employment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel between facilities within the designated region.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications or vocational training in facility maintenance or related fields preferred.
Compensation: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
