General Summary:
The Systems Administrator is a member of the internal IT team at Golden West which consists of support technicians and system administrators and is responsible for developing, deploying, securing, and maintaining the IT infrastructure for 300 personnel across South Dakota. This infrastructure includes Windows and Linux Servers, VMware, and Hyper-V virtualization clusters, wired and wireless networking and cloud applications.
The Systems Administrators primary focus is to maintain and secure the company’s corporate computing platform. Duties include administration, set-up, maintenance, implementation, configuration, coordination, control, troubleshooting, security, and usage monitoring of IT systems, along with the development of specialized system procedures. Additionally, the Systems Administrator provides the monitoring, primary response and intervention for information technology related to security incidents and violations, along with disaster recovery. Maintains system documentation and logs, performs or assists in troubleshooting and diagnosing performance problems. The Systems Administrator is expected to keep current with new software, hardware, security and network monitoring technologies and IT best practices in order to further business process improvement.

Education and/or Experience:
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or 5 years of experience in the IT field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have direct experience with Microsoft computer operating systems and associated software. Advanced Microsoft and/or networking certifications preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid South Dakota driver’s license, have an excellent driving record and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
Other Qualifications and/or Credentials:
Advanced knowledge of networking infrastructure and large scale software installations and deployments.
