Golden State Health Centers is Hiring an Unit Manager (LVN) Full-time Near Arcadia, CA

Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital is looking several Unit Managers (LVN) to oversee each of our nine units in a skilled nursing setting. The primary role of this position is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned unit by overseeing Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA's) and Licensed Voctional Nurses to ensure all workflows, expectations, and company procedures are adhered to so that the patients recieve only the upmost care and services. The anticipated schedule will be a 4:2 work rotation working from possibly 9:00AM-5:30PM or 10:00AM-6:30PM. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
  • Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
  • Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects the day-to-day nursing procedures.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
  • Ensure that all nursing services personnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions and are adhering to all company policies and procedures by both auditing and monitoring their work and their performance.
  • Assist the Director in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plan as necessary.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  • Complete accident/incident reports and procedures as necessary.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. as necessary.
  • Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
  • Mediate any resident, family, or personnel issues with professionalism.
  • Responsible for ensuring any new hires assigned to the prospective unit are properly oriented and trained.
  • Acts as a lead for the unit in all State surveys and inspections.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Unit Manager Qualifications:

  • Must have a minium of three years as a Charge Nurse in a Skilled Nursing facility.
  • Must have an active LVN license in the State of California.
  • Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
  • Familiarity with medical software and equipment
  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Supervisory experience desired but not required
