Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and collaborative law firm with a national presence, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as a Civil Litigation Paralegal in its Orlando office.
The position requires the ability to multitask effectively and balance working on multiple requests and projects daily. Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail are required. These duties include maintaining files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, communicating with clients and other parties involved in the cases, etc. This position requires knowledge of best law firm practices and the legal field. supporting litigators that have a high volume of work. The paralegal will assist and provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorney(s). ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: :

• Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure

• Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

• E-filing knowledge in preparation for filing all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions

• Knowledge of legal documents and terminology

• Knowledge of billing

• Knowledge of investigating the facts of a case

• Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and articles

• Organize and maintain documents in the physical file and the firm’s document Management software

• Gather, maintain current, and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation

• Write reports to help attorneys prepare for trial

• Obtain affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court

• Assist lawyers during trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts

• File exhibits, briefs, appeals, and other legal documents (after the lawyer has reviewed and approved them) with the court or opposing counsel

• Reach out to clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, or depositions.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a civil litigation and trial paralegal.

• Construction defect litigation and claims experience is preferred.
