Summary:

CPMG will provide temporary professional, non-personal general clerical support services to the Smithsonian and is seeking an Accounting Clerk III.

Essential Job Functions:

• Process financial data including validation and corrections of financial transactions and resolve issues/problems involving data entry functions and tasks
• Using automated financial systems, will perform review, verification, and validation of cash deposits based on information received from various SI organizational units
• Take necessary steps to resolve discrepancies, which includes coordination with SI internal units. 
• Process payments using a variety of automated applications such as bank wire transfers, bank checks, etc.
• Support the department in the distribution of incoming statements, advises, notices, reports and any other documents received
• Facilitate scanning, filing and indexing of daily data entry activity 

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Detail oriented with high accuracy rate
• Understanding of accounting systems, standard accounting codes, classification, and terminology
• PeopleSoft version 8.0 or 8.4 or other web-based financial system experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2-5 years of experience in related area
• US Citizenship
