Overview

Goldbelt Professional Services (GPS), specializes in providing support and expert resources for an extensive range of Public Health missions. This includes scientific, technical, and administrative support ranging from junior staff to high-level Subject Matter Experts. We are research- and data-driven, with a team of experts ready to create solutions and support customized to your needs.

Summary:

The Data Management Analyst will support the Division of STD Prevention (DSTDP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • The contractor shall review and digitally file annual progress reports (as requested) received by CDC from recipients. Specifically, the contractor shall develop, and deliver to the Project Officers or Program Lead, quantitative and/or qualitative data tables and summary reports of the Annual Progress Reports (APRs) and other key reports (as requested) for the NOFOs upon request.
  • The summary report shall include narrative information and charts, as appropriate. The report shall provide an overall assessment of progress and/or lack of progress by recipients as compared to the technical reviews conducted by DSTDP project officers. The contractor shall present the findings to branch staff as a PowerPoint presentation. Topics shall include:
    • Identification of by name and total number recipients who submit incomplete reports;
    • Percentage of recipients in compliance with the various requirements (e.g., content review, planning guidelines, and other requirements as designated by the COR);
    • Recipient progress, as measured by program objectives and its corresponding performance indicators, challenges and successes by individual recipients and by the NOFO. This section shall include a summary of the individual project officer’s assessments;
    • Capacity-building assistance (CBA) efforts requested by recipient and recommended by project officers in the technical reviews; and
    • The data tables containing the abstracted information shall be due no later than 60 days after receipt of the necessary documents by the contractor.
  • The contractor shall analyze data gathered through means other than the standard progress reports (e.g., meetings, conference calls, recipient profiles, informal communication) and provide summaries or meeting minutes (whichever is most appropriate) to the NOFO lead and Program Unit leadership staff for use in the assessment of program performance. A minimum of 2-3 data gathering events of this nature are anticipated each month and shall only involve less than 30 pages of qualitative feedback of information.
  • Optimize and enhance our use of relevant data through suggestions to improve reporting and more effectively manage and analyze data available.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks as required.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to create and update records throughout the lifecycle of the data.
  • Ability to create Excel templates to stand up new data repositories within the customer’s larger repository for incoming data to ensure the information is properly captured and accessible.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
  • Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet programs and database management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritize assignments based on internal customer needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
