Position: Quarry Supervisor – 1st Shift

Location: National City, MI

Grade: Hourly non-union

Reports to: Quarry Manager

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

• Ensure a safe working environment through effective housekeeping; enforcement of Corporate Safety policies and practices and ensure adherence to MSHA requirements.
• Oversee and manage daily operations of the quarry including directing the workforce and assisting with the operation of equipment.
• Assist Quarry Manager in the control of mine budget areas including labor, repair & maintenance, productivity, mine development and supplies.
• Complete daily production reports.
• Ability to effectively communicate mine planning objectives to all levels of the organization.
• Assist the Quarry Manager in daily tasks as required and fill in during his absence.
• Assist the Quarry Manager in preparation of capital budget by recommending projects and obtaining competitive prices and/or bids and coordinating the approved projects implementation.
• Be available to cover 2nd shift supervisor for vacancies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years experience working in a mine.
• 3-5 years of experience in supervision/management, production planning, maintenance coordination, and equipment operation.
• Proven leadership abilities with hourly and salaried employees. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop team atmosphere.
• Proficiency in the following computer applications: Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Mine/Quarry: 3 years (Preferred)
• Supervision: 3 years (Required)
