OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an Extrusion Operator to join our night shift team. As an Extrusion Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery to produce high-quality plastic products. If you have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with plastics blow molding, and a keen eye for detail, we encourage you to apply.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Assist in operating extrusion equipment, learning to optimize quality and efficiency levels and minimize scrap, downtime, and production bottlenecks.

• Maintain complete & accurate records including, but not limited to, traceability information & daily shift reports, and inventory records.
• Understand the extrusion process, obtaining input from technicians relative to the job.
• Assist with roll changes, cleanouts, shutdowns, and startups.
• Effectively operate all winding and sheeting machines.
• Prepare cores and skids for upcoming jobs.
• Check and verify production information and prepare for upcoming jobs on the production schedule.
• Adhere to quality standards and guidelines and notify supervisor/ managers immediately of non-conformance.
• Assist on grinders, material handlers and on other lines as needed.
• Cross-train in QA functions – Know how to operate the Colorimeter.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Train and assist in employee training as required.
• Responsible for understanding the food safety hazards of their job and following the employee GMPs and other procedures to ensure food safety.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of a high school degree or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong math skills.
• 2 years manufacturing machine operation experience preferred.
• Previous material handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Position will require regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Able to operate hand tools.
• Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100lbs.
• Ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems relating to machines.
• Able to work night shift, 12 hour rotating shifts.
• This is a 12-hour night shift, full-time position where employees work 7 out of 14 days (2 x 2 x 3). The hours will be 5:50 pm – 6:00 am.

STARTING WAGE:

• $21.42/ hour
• $3.00/ Night Differential
• $3.00/ Weekend Differential
