Gatorland is looking for a Director of Finance to lead our accounting team. The Director of Finance is responsible for all areas of financial management to include the budgeting and forecasting processes, monthly and annual financial analysis, reporting, statistical reporting and financial planning. This includes areas of responsibility for Departmental management, strategic planning, short and long-term plan preparation and documentation; organization, direction and implementation; budgetary preparation and management, internal/external communications, payroll and staff appraisal. The position will direct and oversee all the financial management functions supporting and attaining profitable growth and strategic goals. Candidates must be a team-player and demonstrate positive leadership skills to create a strong and cohesive accounting team. This position reports to the CEO/President and will provide support as a key member of the management team.

Primary Duties:

• Responsible for preparing timely and comprehensive reports including analysis of financial data, audits and the like covering sales, earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results;
• Prepares year-end reporting for the outside accounting firm so our tax returns can be prepared and submitted in a timely manner;
• Knowledge of Accesso/Siriusware and its integration with park POS software a plus;
• Must be proficient in Excel;
• Knowledge of statistical reporting a plus;
• Reconciles bank statements;
• Responsible for Accounts Receivable and any banking issues;
• Oversees Payroll operations and Accounts Payable;
• Sets goals and objectives for the department, both short and long term;
• Responsible for evaluations of staff within your department;
• Prepares statements for Board of Directors (BOD), Shareholders and others as necessary;
• Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to CEO/President;
• Inform CEO and Park Operation Committee (POC) of departmental issues that affect the park on a grand scale;
• Supports all departmental managers and directors to help them clearly understand their financial data;
• Attend Quarterly BOD meetings;
• Continued education and personal/professional development is encouraged;
• Experience in retail accounting is a plus;
• Perform role of Manager on Duty;
• Ability to work some weekends is required;
• Additional responsibilities may include coordinating outside audit programs and the auditing of joint ventures and/or partnerships.

Education, experience, specialized skills and knowledge requirements:

Minimum education is a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role. Show strong leadership and communication skills with a strong desire to work as a team player. EOE

Salary Expectations

Position pays a base salary and is commission/bonus eligible. Excellent benefits package to include vacation, PTO and 401K match. Starting pay is commensurate with experience.
