Overview

Why Securitizations at GM Financial? 

The AVP ABS Warehouse Data Analytics Finance is a critical technical role within the GMF North America Securitization and Conduit Reporting team. This position will manage a team of analysts responsible for data analysis for the Trust Reporting group. This position will manage and oversee design process improvements and the creation of SQL reports. The AVP will write functional specifications develop and test system plans, document processes and programs, advise users on program use, and resolve production problems. This position involves a high level of coordination with other departments and third-party software vendors. The AVP will assist the AVP Warehouse funding with completing monthly reports in order to maintain acceptable knowledge of production reporting systems.

Responsibilities

About the Role: 

  • Analyze Data to troubleshoot process problems, drive process improvement, develop ad-hoc analysis and reports as directed by management
  • Translate complex requirements into business requirements/functional specifications documents in coordination with the data warehouse teams
  • Understand data warehouse design and data modeling
  • Create Analytical Workflows or decision analytics for warehouse funding
  • Assist or advise in new technology usage for funding model
  • Assist in analytical work for new products like Fleet, ILC
  • Data extraction, creation, manipulation of multiple files and or databases
  • Find and correct operational errors, determine how to design system enhancements and test programs and systems
  • Make recommendations to senior management based on findings
  • Keep up to date on current technology through training and outside materials
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports
  • Manage relationships with external vendors
  • Work with different accounting groups and design / develop end to end solution
  • Perform other duties as assigned and conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

What makes you an ideal candidate?

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing methodology, data modeling, ETL, databases, and Business Intelligence and their processes
  • Advance working knowledge on Data mining/analysis, Data governance and data architecture and reporting
  • Capable of managing multiple and varied projects, including ability to coordinate and balance numerous tasks in a time sensitive environment, under pressure, meeting deadlines
  • You have mastery of coding SAS and/or SQL for data mining and manipulation, and querying skills and knowledge in a data warehouse environment
  • Manage ad hoc research projects incorporating project design, data collection and analysis, summarization of findings and presentation of results
  • Lead a team of analysts, developing performance objectives and assisting in their skill and career growth

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Master’s Degree Finance, Business, MIS, or other quantitative field preferred preferred

Experience

  • 7-10 years related ABS Securitization experience or Financial analysis experience required
  • 5-7 years Data analysis/reporting and/or business system analysis required
  • 3-5 years SQL required, Cognos or any BI Tools
  • 3-5 years management and/or leadership experience required
