Responsibilities

About the Role:

The Accounts Payable Process Analyst is responsible for the review, analysis, and documentation of Accounts Payable department related processes. This team member is also responsible for reviewing Accounts Payable related processes for policy compliance. The Accounts Payable Process Analyst will be responsible for performing analysis and meeting the reporting requirements needs for the Accounts Payable team. This team member must be able to work both independently with minimal guidance, and as an integral part of the larger Accounts Payable team when needed. The Accounts Payable Process Analyst will have extensive contact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.The Accounts Payable Process Analyst must be proactive and display the ability to manipulate large amounts of data and information, to identify trends and develop insights that will support and encourage optimal departmental performance.

JOB DUTIES

  • Perform timely and accurate review of Accounts Payable process controls with the established SOX Accounts Payable Controls, Company policies and AP internal control procedures
  • Participate in the evaluation, development and implementation and monitoring of Accounts Payable department policies, processes and controls
  • Maintain control review documentations, and report issues
  • Create and modify tables, queries, and reports in MS Access Database, Cognos Analytics and other sources
  • Perform research, analysis and reporting for the Accounts Payable team
  • Lead the reconciliation efforts for all invoice discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide consistent updates with immediate supervisor depending upon duties/projects assigned
  • Act as support and backup for the Accounts Payable payment processing activities
  • Act as support for internal and external audits when necessitated
  • manage defects and system issues identified by the Accounts payable processing and OIS teams
  • Provide support for Accounts Payable projects as needed

Qualifications

What makes you a dream candidate? 

  • Working knowledge of the accounts payable process
  • Working knowledge of automated financial systems
  • Knowledge of SOX Accounts Payable Control review
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Access Database
  • Knowledge of Oracle reporting tools required (ie Cognos Analytics)
  • Advanced skills in creating ad hoc queries and reporting
  • Experience with financial reporting tools and database query tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Deadline oriented with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight time deadlines

Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 2-4 years ​Experience in Accounts Payable preferred
