Position: Resident Engineer - NSP

Type: Project Employee Salaried, Exempt, 40 hours weekly based, no overtime & no benefits

Work Location: RICHMOND, VA

Type: W2 / 1099 last Option

Qualifications and Experience:

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science
• Strong experience in NSP (Network Service Platforms)
• Please note NSP Automates, Manage and control IP and Optical Networks

Knowledgeable of the system administration of NSP (Linux, Kubernetes, system health) and the NSP applications (NFM-Analytics etc). Looking for 50/50 knowledge split.

US Citizens because of a US government security clearance is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Proactively manage and troubleshoot the NSP environment for Production and LAB (Alarms associated with the applications and the environments).
• Generate performance/analytics reports for the NSP environment and its applications.
• Generate network and services capacity reports associated primarily with IP/MPLS Network Elements (NEs).
• Generate “audit” reports against architecture standards.
• Develop a process to automate user (Local Accounts) nodal password changes primarily for IP/MPLS NEs.
• Take the lead in opening and managing the progression of Nokia TAC tickets associated with the NSP environment and applications.
• Provide support for NSP software upgrades.
• Provide support for nodal software upgrades for IP/MPLS NEs using NSP/NFM-P.
• Assist with on-demand scripts using NSP/NFM-P to support various operational needs (e.g., adding “IP-MTU” to VPRN interfaces).

If the candidate has prior hands-on experience with NSP/NFM-P application that would be great.
