Glow Networks is Hiring a Network Security Operations Center Analyst Near Naperville, IL

Position: Network Security Analyst (SOC) - Naperville IL

Work Location: Nokia Office, Naperville, IL, 60440

Status: Must be a US citizen or Green Card Holder

Salary: $35 – $38 p/h W2, no benefits

Duration: 12 Months, extendable based on customer requirement

Description:

Glow Networks is seeking a Level 2 Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to work at our customer location in Naperville, IL, 60440. We are seeking candidates with:

· MUST be US citizen, or Green Card Holder

· Must have 3 years’ experience with Operational Security Incident and Event Management with Telecom networks

· At least 3 years’ experience as a Level 2 SOC engineer

· Certifications such as, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Security , or CISSP

· Knowledge of Security Operations Center (SOC) performance analytics may be helpful

· This position is well suited for a Network Security Analyst or Engineer who has some experience working with telecommunications networks.

· We cannot consider candidates who lack telecom network experience.

Work Environment:

· Hybrid role, with 2 to 3 days per week onsite at the customer’s Naperville, IL office

· 24 X 7 work environment

· May be required to work shift or on-call for security monitoring

Key responsibilities:

· Perform Security Event monitoring on the customer telecom networks

· Perform 1st and 2nd level analysis of security events

· Perform SIEM infrastructure monitoring

· Monitor health of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) components and create incidents for the support team to take action

· Process and triage Alerts & Events from in-scope security tools & products

· Escalate security incidents to customer or relevant party as needed

· Ensure incidents are handled as per SLA

· Create, update and manage the security knowledge base

· Define Security Monitoring guidelines as per customer requirements

· Perform review and analysis with customer to help establish lessons learnt, create & update new/existing processes & procedures to mature the SOC and SIEM services and support

· Conduct trend analysis of customer networks and identify over-utilization of assets, ineffective traffic routing, inappropriate traffic priority, the root cause of repetitive incidents, single points of failure, and other configuration weaknesses that detract from the performance of customer networks.

· Address security issues according to customer-defined procedures and ensure their successful implementation in the network by creating Requests For Change (RFC) according to customer-defined procedures. If appropriate, participate on RFC review boards in order to approve planned activity.

· Schedule and manage preventative maintenance activities needed to keep customer networks running at optimal security levels.

· Provide real-time support to the resolution of major security outages.
Ensure the networks are optimized and running at customer agreed security targets.

· Improve the use of auto-alarm correlation to minimize the number of alarms managed by Network Service Engineers

· Define events/alerts within the SIEM tool as per customer requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

· 3 years’ network security experience, including security event monitoring and analysis

· 3 years’ experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

· Knowledge of Splunk, ArcSight, Q-Radar

· Incident Management

· Planning and organization

· Technical/Business insight and judgement

· Excellent written and verbal English language comm skills
