Position Summary:

The Visual Inspector is responsible for visually inspecting and assembling small machined components. The use of various tooling is required to remove loose or fixed burrs, cleaning of sharp edges, and polishing and blending machined surfaces of the medical device(s). The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment.

Assembler I: entry level role, deburring of components, such as but not limited to screws and screw components, tulips, and Peek Spacers.

Assembler II: All of level 1 plus added complexity in tasks, such as but not limited to the assembly of Revere, Revolve, Creo, Ellipse, Quartex, Protex, and Uniplanner screws, as well as Troch Nails

Assembler III: All of levels 1 and 2, as well as Coalition MIS and AGX, Independence, Hedron, Corbel and Sustain product lines. Truss Plates and Providence plates are included as well. Must also be able to pin parts, and set-up and operate the staking press.

Assembler IV: All of levels 1 – 3 and proficient at assembling Magnify, Altera, Sable, Fortify, Aerial, Monument, Renegade, Trans M, Rise, and Elsa product lines.

Hours: 2:45 pm - 11:15 pm 

Essential Functions:

  • Visually inspects of machined components using stereo-microscope
  • Measures and inspects medical device products in accordance with manufacturing specifications
  • Assembles sub-components into finished assemblies following established procedures
  • Utilizes hand tools including but not limited to deburring knives, files, and pneumatic tools to remove burrs and assemble parts
  • Visually inspects utilizing illumination devices & microscope to view internal areas of components to ensure they are adequately deburred
  • Escalates problems/issues to the Assembly Supervisor
  • Accurately completes all quality documentation and inspection sheets
  • Embraces 5S, Lean Management, GMP’s and company directives each day.
  • Follows all verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints, traveler, work instruction, process specifications, sketches, and direction from supervisor in completing a variety of assembly and inspection tasks
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent with at least one year of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment (torque wrenches, hand tools, power supplies, meters, fixtures, and tooling)
  • Familiarity with GMP environment; reading & checking Bills of Materials, schematics, and machine/assembly drawings
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high degree of organizational and technical competence
  • Ability to function well under pressure and expend effort to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Experience working for a medical device manufacturer preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced critical thinking and problems-solving skills
