Global Wind Service is Hiring a Quality Assurance Inspector Near Carrollton, TX
Position Summary:
- Review and revise standard technical work procedures for turbine construction and maintenance
- Inspect components and completed wind turbines and record variances
- Perform quality assurance testing, auditing and maintain records for project sites
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Read and understand mechanical drawings
- Schedule and perform all internal and external audits of activities affecting quality of final product
- Provide a critical link between customers and suppliers on matters of quality and safety
- Perform testing as delineated in test procedures and plans
- Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Report non-conformances and perform root cause analysis and provide corrective action plans
- Ensure the product being delivered meets the customer quality requirements
- Maintain QA, QC records, training, and safety records
- Execution of required WTG work (preassembly, installation, service & maintenance, etc.)
- Perform all work following GWS safety protocols and procedures and wearing appropriate PPE
- Attending site induction and other requested site meetings held by the client or GWS
- Work according to the safety regulations
- Reporting all near-miss accidents, incidents, and accidents immediately to the Site Manager
- Participating in training and education, as required by the Site Manager or the client
- Use all working equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Perform required maintenance of all tools and equipment on site
- Keep work place neat and orderly to prevent accidents and inefficiencies
- Meet weekly reporting deadlines of work hours, work progress reports and travel reports
- Flexibility to travel extensively and work in varying and adverse weather conditions
- Flexibility to work overtime hours on weekly basis including nights and weekends
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Pre-employment background check and drug test
- Valid driver license and acceptable MVR record
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in Wind Technology preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- At least three years of work experience as wind turbine technician or QAQC technician
- Ability to climb towers, up to 300 ft, on a daily basis, several times per day
- Per safety regulations and equipment safety limits, must weigh less than 260 pounds
Working Conditions and Environment
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to move around the office up to 20% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc.
- This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 20% of the time.
- This position requires prolonged periods of working outside in varying weather conditions including adverse weather, up to 80% of the time.
- This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Company’s employees, clients, vendors and/or contractors.
- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
- Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions including adverse weather.
