Our client, a trusted and established partner within the veterinary industry is currently looking for a Vice President of Field Operations to cover veterinary hospitals in the west coast region of the USA.

The successful will have extensive prior experience within the clinical veterinary space, ideally as a clinician with experience of operational leadership over at least 10 years. Leading both front and central, guiding multiple site hospitals grow and do their best work. You'll be in charge of different areas where work, making sure everything runs smoothly and the region meets their goals. This exciting role ideally would be suited to a seasoned operational leader within the veterinary space, which would be strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Extensive leadership to multiple veterinary hospitals, aligned with the culture and vision of the group.
• Share the companies mission and goals with everyone you meet.
• Excellent communicator - making sure plans are clear and help hospitals understand and deliver them.
• Key attention to detail on the regions KPI’s, executing and delivering growth.
• Ability to inspire, lead and develop direct reports in a multi-site operation.
• Providing clear instructions
• Build strong relationships between different parts of the region’s teams.
• Nurture the onsite leaders grow and develop so they can be even better at their jobs.
• Work with HR team to hire the right people and help them succeed.

Requirements:

• You should have a college degree or similar experience.
• You need at least 8 years of experience in a similar job, including managing multiple hospitals with budget responsibility in excess of circa $250mn
• Experience in leading multiple sites within the veterinary field, from a strategic operations
• This role is home based, requiring weekly extensive travel to sites across the western USA seaboard predominantly

Working Conditions:

• You'll need to travel extensively via car, air or by train to service the region effectively.
• You might need to travel long distances at short notice.
• You'll spend a lot of time at a computer, either onsite or remotely
• There will be occasions whereby you will need to work in excess of 40 hours a week
• You'll be around pets and might be exposed to some chemicals, given the nature of the role

To be considered for this position, you must have the following:

· Ideally DVM or college degree from an accredited university
· Good characteristics including strong leadership skills, compassion, excellent communication, business acumen, enthusiasm and willingness to learn
