Job Description: Summary:
The consumable inventory team supports an on-site service that delivers and maintain stock inventory that is critical to the customer's scientific staff to perform their research. A successful candidate should have great attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and be able to work independently. This candidate should also have great computer skills and able to enter scientific data into inventory management systems with speed and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
Enhance the Customer Experience

• Maintains consumable stock supply inventory; verifies inventory levels by performing periodic checks across multiple locations.
• Receives and stores supplies in warehouse or supply room. Delivers stock items upon request to the appropriate location and/or scientist.
• Uses customer inventory management platform to track inventory levels.
• Maintains inventory stockroom, central warehouse, and satellite locations. Transport materials from warehouse to various building locations on campus.
• May maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) associated with purchases of chemical products.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Reviews incoming orders for proper quantities requested, and authorized approvals; inspects and verifies supplies received against invoice and packing slip; initiates requests for vendor corrections.
• Undertake routine filling of pipette boxes and Eppendorf packs as required to ensure fully stocked at all times
• This role will work closely with other teams to seamlessly deliver lab support services.
• Will be required to cross-train and back-up other lab support areas

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Must have a valid Washington State Drivers License and have an exceptional driving record
• MS Office Skills: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with inventory management software is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a laboratory environment is preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit or stand 2-3 hours in laboratory areas.
• Walk 2-3 hours within a facility.
• Reach above/below the shoulder, bend at the knees and waist.
• Lift up to 25 lbs.
• Office work activities, including keyboard, with fingers/hands/arms up to 4 hours.
• Work around moving laboratory equipment and machinery.
• Use of personal protective equipment in laboratory.
• Work with biohazards such as blood borne pathogens.

Working Environment

• Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment.
• Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
• Employee maybe required to manage hazardous wastes in compliance with company procedures & State/Federal/Local hazardous waste regulations. Duties may include: Identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing, labeling.
• Ensure safety, security, and the environment in all aspect of the daily activities, and any potential safety hazards are addressed and corrected immediately.
• Understand ergonomic relationship between people, equipment and working environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $28.00 - $28.41 per hour
