Global Health Care Group is looking for a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician to provide services for the inmates incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood, in Littleton, Colorado.

Facility Information: The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood in Littleton, Colorado, is a low security facility housing male offenders. The institution also has an administrative detention center and an adjacent satellite prison camp for minimum security male offenders. FCI Englewood is located 15 miles southwest of Denver, off U.S. Highway 285 and South Kipling Street.
Work Schedule: The contractor will normally provide 1 individual, working an estimated of two (2), eight (8) hours days per week (16 hours per week).
They need someone to work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays or Wednesday and Thursday. Services will normally be performed between 6:00 A.M. and 2:30 P.M., on the specified days during the week excluding Federal Holidays. The schedule services will include a (30 min) half hour unpaid lunch break. Work hours will be at a time mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the Health Services Administrator (HSA) or their designees. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 16 hours per week. 
 
The services performed shall include, but not limited to the following: 

• Perform a variety of routine tests and laboratory procedures for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Conduct urinalysis, clinical chemistry tests and blood counts, prepare tissue samples for study by medical technologist or pathologist, prepare chemical reagent stains and solutions, tend automatic equipment to prepare specimens and perform analytical tests, make preliminary identification of bacterial cultures subject to confirmation of supervisor, maintain laboratory stock of chemicals and glassware, and collect specimens from patients.
• Perform basic blood draws for inmates, spin down blood, prepare and package specimens for shipping, and deliver subject shipping containers to the FCI front lobby for shipment.
• Draw blood in open, semi-open and locked units, which will require direct contact with inmates.
• Responsible for keeping the lab neatly organized, maintaining the needle/syringe inventory, properly documenting lab request logs, completing related paperwork and filing, and conducting routine equipment checks. The contractor will be required to collect data relating to laboratory efforts (usage, types of labs studies, prompt receipt of orders and timely return of results by our contract labs, etc.).
• Must be able to work effectively with both staff and inmates in the performance of contract services.

Minimum Qualifications:
The Medical Laboratory Technician assigned to FCI Englewood by the Contractor must possess the following qualifications:

1. Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Diploma or certificate
2. Six months of practical experience
