Job Summary
This position is responsible for executing shipping duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Picking/packing, Loading with accuracy to insure quality product for all customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the following:
· Pull customer orders, pack & label per customer requirements. Utilize scales, forklifts and all equipment as needed.
· Notify Warehouse – Warehouse - Shipping Coordinator when customer orders are picked, packed and ready to ship.
· Fill out pick tickets accurately for Shipping Coordinator to process shipment.
· Load freight carriers for all outgoing product, insure final inspection of outgoing shipments.
· Knowledge of efficient trailer loading procedures and proper material handling techniques as well as instructional skills.
· Follow up and assistance of operators regarding tagging (Identification and Traceability).
· Communicate in advance any potential shipment shortages to supervisor
· Place HOLD tags on product they determine to be suspect. . (Nonconforming Material Reporting - NCMR)
· Ability to maintain system, verify rack locations, view prints, work with backlog as required.
· Preform cycle counts using the cycle count process.
· Stop activity with their department when safety is compromised.
· Performing general cleanup and maintenance of your work area.
Cross train in all warehouse functions to insure full coverage at all times.
· Wears required safety equipment and follows the safety policies.
· Know what the Company Quality Policy and Quality Objectives mean to them and their role associated with the achievement of these objectives.
Assist the Cell Leader with the introduction of Continuous Improvement ideas.
· Employee is responsible for complete customer satisfaction through the quality of their own work. Their goal is to reduce variability to achieve zero defects for our products and services while improving cycle times.
· Other duties as directed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
minimum qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: 1 year of shipping/receiving/warehousing experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, MRP/ERP , Basic PC Skills
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Forklift License, Crane operator license
