Job Description:
A Week in the Life at G.L. Homes: Solution Development and Project Leadership
- Meet with stakeholders and end-users to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges.
- Lead one or more projects to deliver solutions satisfying stakeholder and end-user goals.
- Organize and lead proof of concepts to validate product plans and confirm requirements.
- Observe business processes in action and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement, configure and troubleshoot JD Edwards ERP applications.
- Learn and practice agile methodology
- Turn user pains and problems into actionable stories.
- Facilitate discussions between stakeholders, SMEs, and the delivery team.
- Collaborate daily with the delivery team to define, plan and execute work.
- Help the team focus on value-driven development by correlating delivery efforts to business value.
- Facilitate QA testing.
- Validate and approve delivered work.
- Track and report accomplishments, progress, and remaining work.
- Escalate product issues and risks to leadership.
- Co-facilitate business stakeholder acceptance testing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by conducting retrospectives and acting on findings.
- Develop metrics to measure solution adoption and confirm the business value provided by the solution. Operational Support
- Provide day-to-day next-level assistance for solutions within the domain of the role. These solutions include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, inventory, procurement, bidding, contracting, home inventory, home options, home sales, CRM, home construction, home closings, home warranty, and BI.
- Troubleshoot application errors.
- Create and update end-user documentation.

- Technical Projects
- Research and evaluate third-party products as an alternative to in-house development.
- Develop BI solutions using Microsoft SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, and other BI tools.
- Perform light software development projects such as adding new fields to an application and fixing minor bugs.
- Automate processes using low-code tools.
