2024 Summer Internship - Market Analyst / Commodity Traffic

About the role:
Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will be:

• Collecting primary as well as secondary market intelligence data and producing analyses.
• Updating market analysis data base for Chrome, Nickel, and Stainless products.
• Cost analysis: Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Understanding site operations such as production, loading of product, storage and safety.
• Understanding the movements of commodities from suppliers to customers.
• Logistics management, including scheduling shipments and tracking inventory.
• Preparing Import documents including Bills of Lading and customs forms to ensure compliance with regulations.

As the successful candidate you will have experience in, and demonstrate the following:

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent with excellent academic record.
• Strong analysis/planning skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and good work organizational skills.
• Ambitious and entrepreneurial, willing to learn.
• Strong interest in international commodity markets.

Additional information:

• This is a paid internship - $23/hour
• In person office attendance is required in accordance with Glencore's US policy (currently Monday - Thursday)
• Office is located at 330 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10017
• One week in our Pittsburgh office located at: 681 Andersen Drive Suite 7; Pittsburgh, PA
• Intern will be responsible for transport costs to/from the Glencore office.
